My oh my how I loved this book and tape and stuffed beluga whale when I was little. I think my mom even sings the song to my son, haha. Another must have for the boo's book collection.

It took me so long to come around to this book and to the overall genius of Raffi (who I still don't like and find kind of creepy but am forced, through first-hand experience, to concede his brilliance and igniting small children's sensibilities), but this is a book I have to recommend. The sing-song quality of the verses, coupled with the infectious, repetitive chorus, is simply addictive to a small child. And if you get the audio disc of Raffi himself singing it, the dynamic becomes even more explosive. There's also something about a cute little whale who lives in a fantastic universe where man and animal live together peacefully, but you're infant will mostly be interested in the tune.
