Here's a good trade tip: Dura Seal’s Durafinish; comes in a gallon can; looks like milky water; we use two coats. It’s not thick like paste wax. It makes a thin film; all you have to do is buff it and walk away. That way you don’t get scuffmarks from too-thick wax. We won’t have the boards planed; they feel smooth to walk on but they have a little surface texture; it’s a great finish for when the dog jumps in the pool and then walks back in the house. You can go from as rustic as you want to as refined as you want to be. Beautiful grain structure you can’t find in new wood. (via Elements of Living)
