As soon as the HD DVD / Blu-Ray wars are settled, I'm going to buy a 1080p TV and a player that can play the format that won. And then I'm getting this disc.

Once you get somewhere, you might be short on stuff to do so it's always good to have some amazing family entertainment like the Planet Earth series. I just got the Blu-Ray (they also have HD-DVD) version and the series features numerous jaw-dropping views around the world, in full HD quality and is filled with scene after scene of animals you've never seen before or never seen in their habitat. My entire family loves it.

I am a lover of good things. This is good. Like homemade cupcakes, the sound of autumn leaves underfoot. the perfect photograph - you get the drift. It is National Geographic come to life to the tune of David Attenborough. Just get it, watch it, and you will understand. Yes I would stand in line for this but hopefully not for too long as I would just want to get home to my couch and tv.

Even on Standard Definition and without David Attenborough's narration, this series, simply put, is incredible. With that said, for the full impact, forget SD and Sigourney and do it right with Blu-ray plus you win eco-points from the suspiciously efficient packaging with 5 discs in what typically houses ONE FREAKIN' DVD. The footage is striking and has eerily simulated first hand experience. At any moment you could fall out of the helicopter and be ambushed by a herd of antelope! Its perfectly frightening and a great reminder of how wonderful and vast out planet really is. GET ON THIS and GET ON THIS FOR GIFTING. Great for hippy-stoners and families alike!

Planet Earth is simply one of the most amazing things I have ever seen captured on film. It shows you just how incredible life on Earth is, and how insignificant we as human beings are in the whole scheme of things. You will see jaw dropping events never captured before on film for the first time ever, and I can't describe how fascinating it all is. If you pick up this HD-DVD version, you're in for an even better treat. You'll never see anything like this.

I got this to play on my new PS3. I've watched just half a disc so far, and I'm already loving it. David Attenborough is the master of the documentary and this content is beautiful.

The slow motion shot of the shark devouring the seal? Proof that sharks can fly. I am humbled every time. Anyone who feels sad for the seal is a wimp.
