I have used my TI-84 since middleschool- and though not colored naturally (grey) it has many colors from my many math classes of boredom... I have the snazziest one on the planet I think, full of math musings and zebra stripes.

About the calculator itself- I've kept it around for a reason, its the best. If you know how to run them (its not rocket science) you can do almost anything. It certainly an investment you should make early on and hold onto for as long as you can.

*they are also durable... mine has survived MANY tubles*
