I´m told it has the strongest engine of all the Kitchen Aids. It sure can do anything.

Oh yeah, baby. I've got the 500 model. Hard to imagine there's a commercially available product that's even bigger and more powerful.

I prefer this model over the cheaper Artisan version because it is much easier to get to the bottom of the bowl while you are still in the middle of mixing something.

Lots of capacity. I have the pasta, grinder, and shredder attachments.

The powerful older sibling of your regular Kitchen Aid mixer, this puppy blends, kneads and mixes with the best of them.

the 6 quart mixer makes double the amount of cake batter and icing. I could not live without mine!

Being a pastry cook I could not exist without my KitchenAid. Having the larger of the mixers makes life easier. If you're using a mixer, why not have the capacity and the power of the commercial series. The stainless still paddle won't peel and the slow start motor prevents your flour from flying out of the bowl. Soooo worth the money.

Simply stated, the best you can buy from Kitchenaid, for your own personal kitchen. I have used mine making numerous amounts of cookies to send to the troops, and am about to make lots and lots of brownies to do fundraisers for the troops. I have used with the ice cream making attachment (which I got as a mail in offer for buying the mixer) and my husband said it was the best home made vanilla ice cream he had tasted. I have not had a chance to use with the other attachments yet, but I have to say this is my number one favorite small kitchen appliance. What makes this better than the basic entry level KitchenAid is instead of the tilt lift, you have have a lever lift, which raises the bowl up to the mixer.
