the pillow is heavy because of the foam, so it doesn't move around through the night (even though i do), and the contoured shape at the neck is what keeps my spine aligned, whether i'm laying on my back or my side. it's a little expensive for a pillow, but you use it everyday for at least eight hours, and your neck and back are worth it, right?
i can't sleep without my tempur pedic neck pillow.

Get the side neck pillow if you suffer from serious neck and shoulder pain. It has an indentation for the neck and shoulders to encourage sleeping on the back and the proper positioning. Best decision I made to end my serious, long-term neck and shoulder pain.

My neck and my shoulders are always stiff (I was convinced it was how I was sleeping). I've had my Tempur-Pedic Neck Pillow for about 3 weeks now and I can't believe the difference it makes. I no longer wake up stiff and I feel much more rested in the morning. There is support on each side of this pillow for your neck (one side is a little higher than the other). It took me a week to figure out which side worked best for me (for me the side with the smaller roll (which makes your head closer to the bed) works best). Once I figured out the right side to use, I'm getting the most delicious sleep every!
