I love this pattern for a baby blanket. The finished work is as interesting to a grownup as it is to a baby. Use high-contrast colors for even more oomph to catch your newborn's eye. Don't have a baby? Make one yourself and use it for a lap blanket. The pattern is free, and just too cool to pass up.
