A gang of robbers, lead by career criminal Charlie Croker, create the largest traffic jam in Los Angeles history, giving them time to pull off a theft of gold bullion. They get away in their Mini Coopers, which are small enough to drive on sidewalks so they can make a clean get away before the traffic jam clears.
The cast is fabulous and stars Mark Wahlberg as Charlie Croker, Charlize Theron as Stella Bridger, Donald Sutherland as John Bridger, Jason Statham as Handsome Rob, Seth Green as Lyle, Mos Def as Left Ear and Edward Norton as Steve.
This movie is well above average for a remake. The original was a 1969 thriller with Michael Caine. The use of the buzzing, squared-off Mini Coopers is fantastically filmed in the Los Angeles subway tunnel. This movie is a classic caper comedy.
