Why: You don’t plan on buying your kid a car until he’s at least 16 (if he’s good), but you might change your mind when you see a PlasmaCar in action. OK, so it’s not a real car, but kids as young as three can cruise around the neighborhood without having to worry about rising gas prices. That’s because the PlasmaCar is completely kid-powered. No pedals or batteries—all it needs is a driver to turn the steering wheel from side to side, and then physics takes over. The PlasmaCar is simple enough for my two year old, who has been giving driving lessons to his playground friends, but it’s built so parents weighing up to 220 pounds can enjoy it, too. Sure, my husband and I probably look silly zipping along the sidewalk in it, but the stares are worth it (they’re just jealous). Price: $53 - $58

vivid, sleek and aerodynamic, just like a racecar. No batteries, no power-cells, no liquid fuel are required. It´s so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface

I am in love with toys that not only get the kids out of the house... but that require some physical activity (take that childhood obeisity!). This is a MUST buy- especially that the age range is so wonderful... they could be using this for years (though I'm sure they'll get bored far before then).
