Well, you can't beat the soundtrack - and the rest...it's just sheer movie making genius. This is a film I have to watch at least once a year - it's like therapy (and great fashion inspiration!) The Graduate is another timeless classic - it's American satire, 20's angst, and a twisted love story wrapped into a perfectly executed film, with themes as true today as they were back then.

"For god's sake, Mrs. Robinson. Here we are. You got me into your house. You give me a drink. You... put on music. Now you start opening up your personal life to me and tell me your husband won't be home for hours."
"So?"
"Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me. Aren't you?"
"Benjamin, I am *not* trying to seduce you."
"I know that, but *please*, Mrs. Robinson, this is difficult..."
"Would you like me to seduce you?"
"What?"
"Is that what you're trying to tell me?"
"I'm going home now. I apologize for what I said. I hope you can forget it, but I'm going home right now."

Dustin Hoffman is a somewhat flaky, floundering new college graduate manages to fall into the wrong arms . . . and yet, somehow, some way still get the girl in this film about twenty-something angst, young love and deciding who you want to be when you grow up.

One word: plastics. The Graduate has got to be one of the best coming of age films of all time. Probably anyone in my demographic can relate. Most of all though, it's the single iconic film that every graduate should own.

Starts out slow, however this movie was wayyyy ahead of its time
