For a beauty magazine, Allure keeps its head above the crowd by keeping fluff out of their pages as much as possible.

Didn't think much of it before I picked it up, but now it's my source of creative beauty ideas, looks and trend-spotting. It doesn't tell you to be a size zero or to buy that $15,000 LV bag. It just gives straight-up information and patterns in the fashion and beauty industry.

They also throw in a couple of quirky essays every issue that are a joy to read. But I appreciate Allure most of all because they show real women with their real struggles with their body, looks and emotional tics.

The editorial is not much, but then again, it doesn't have to be.
