FlatAlto by Ronan Kadushin for Open Design is the abstract and modern version of the Savoy-vase. This world famous glass vase with the contours of a Finnish lake was designed in 1936 by Finnish architect and industrial designer Alvar Aalto, and since then put on the market by Iittala glass factory under the name of 'Aalto vase'.

The Flat Aalto flower holder has the characteristic contours of the Savoy-vase and in this modern version it is made from a single piece of laser cut stainless steel, which is folded open before use. With a normal drinking glass in between it is a beautiful minimalistic design vase with a wink to the design classic of the Finnish master Alvar Aalto. Arranging flowers is simple thanks to the shape of the rim with its freakish form.

The FlatAalto vase is 'flat packed' without glass, and thus an ideal present for a design enthusiast.
