This amazing album is kind of like a double edged sword. I also get so happy when I hear Stevie Ray, but laced with a heavy heart due to his untimely demise. Especially because I was working for the Music Distributor and set up the conference and helicopter transportation on which he was killed. I remember the next day - the shock, the sadness, the inability to accept what had happened.

I have to admit I never was fully aware of the rare talent Stevie Ray possessed and am saddened that I never saw him live - or alive - and once he passed that that was the time that I fell in love with his spirit and the music he created.

A sucker for horns of all kinds, half way through the album the band is joined by a complete horn section, keyboardist, second drummer, and a female singer Angela Strehli sits in for one song. Here they play tributes to other blues artists like Guitar Slim, Albert King and Albert Collins.

This album is MAGIC. (via Amazon, Under $10 Classic MP3's)
