Looking for some help getting motivated to write that novel you've been wanting to write forever? How about the motivation that comes from knowing that there are 59,000 other would-be novelists slugging away in the trenches with you. That's how many participants signed up for National Novel Writing Month (November) in 2005 -- and 6000 of them managed to write a 50,000 word novel during the 30-day challenge. A number of participants from past years are now published novelists; some have even won awards for their work. This year's signup begins October 1st.
