The soundtrack to Jullien Temple's movie about Joe Strummer plays like a great mixtape made by your coolest friend. There's some Clash, some Strummer in his post-Clash bands, and a smattering of other great artists. Great compilation.
From Julien Temple, the man behind the brilliant Sex Pistols documentary, The Filth and the Fury, comes a new film about Joe Strummer, the mysterious and larger-than-life co-founder, lead singer, lyricist and front man of The Clash who died unexpectedly at the age of 50 in 2002. I genuinely can't say enough about this film. If you're a music fan, and especially a Clash fan, it'll give you chills. It's a film that perfectly honours Joe Strummer while at the same does not romanticize him. Fantastically visual and a fascinating look at a fascinating, charismatic man gone too soon. You'll want to rush home and crank up "White Riot."
