SPCA of Texas - Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: SPCA of Texas Homepage
In March of last year I adopted Jack + Jill. They were furry littermates that instantly bonded with me and loved eachother... naturally I couldn't separate a family so I brought them both home. They are now 50 and 45 pounds, full of energy and generally in love with life... at times that drives me to tears as I pick up pieces of chewed up shoe or get dragged down the street, or clean dog hair from my suit... but my life is so much better with them in it. Besides who else would I make grilled cheese sandwiches for? Or share my Cheetos? Or order Happy Meals for? Or let sleep (read: takle over) in the bed? On their "adopt-aversary" we are going back to the shelter to donate money to sick pups and hope that they find homes where they can eat cheese products and go to Day Care.
We have 2 dogs and our younger one came from an abused home. Although we weren't looking for another dog at the time, we fell in love with him. Services like the SPCA are so needed.
