The Children of Men should compete with The Departed for best film of 2006. Incredibly well directed, shot, produced, acted, and on and on. Very human, very real.

From one of my favorite British mystery writer, P.D. James, comes the theatrical version of one of her novel, 'The Children of Men'. In 2027, in a chaotic world in which humans can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea, where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of humankind

The film stars Clive Owen as Theodore Faron, Julianne Moore as Julian Taylor, Michael Caine as Jasper and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Luke

This novel comments on the inability of Western science to prevent the impending end of the species or to discover the cause of sterility and on how lack of a visible future affects the human race with apathy and cruelty. Let's hope the movie is as good as the book. We can't wait to see it.

Watched this again last week...the one take scene where Clive goes to the building to get the baby and out again is simply amazingly done.. The sound is terrific as well.

A very interesting "what if" movie. Great story, great acting and a very interesting look into the hearts and minds of man and what they are capable of. Definitely work taking a look at.

All I know is that I dont want to end up in a world like this. Watch the movie to make sure it doesnt happen.

this was my favorite movie of the year. i love post-apocalyptic movies and this one was excellent. adult, exquisitely made, funny, yet stark and heartbreaking. (via bholcen)
