  Amelie is absolutely one of my favorite films of all time. The characters in this story are so captivating. They're funny, quirky, and guaranteed to make you feel warm and fuzzy... especially the gnome. Amelie is a shy young woman who grew up with her father and was very sheltered. Once she was older, she moved out to try life on her own and along the way encountered a world of quirky friends. The one thing that she missed in her life though was love and up until she bumped into a stranger in the train station she had no desire to be with anyone. However, as awkward and shy as she is, she has trouble telling him and they go through an amusing game of cat and mouse trying to find each other.
