this is pure pop, and i mean that in the best way possible. afrobeat/new wave/post-punk done quite well. heavy on the preppiness, but unless you really hate rep ties, loafers or cardigans, these songs will get stuck in your head and happily putter back and forth, simple and straightforward and surprisingly earnest.

The band formed in their Columbia dorm room...their stuff is Afrobeat meets '80s stuff! The music is fun, playful, pop-wise, and smart. Organ and drums are often the focal point of the music, bringing to mind a goofier but great album! (via Amazon)

What is there to even say about this, I love this cd with all of my heart. EVERY last single song is a little ode to life.

Probably listened to this CD about 90,000 times last summer. I am sure I will listen to it a few thousand times more this summer. In fact, I am listening to a song from this CD right now.

I would have said they're British or South African. But apparently they're from New York. Catchy tunes when I hear them on the radio, anyway.

My favorite tracks are "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance, Cape Code Kwassa Kwassa, and Oxford Comma". (Ha, I made a joke. Look it up. :) )

They are the perfect mix of quirky, preppy, and just amazing. You definetly need to listen to "Oxford Comma", "M79", and "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa". They are the next big thing, I promise!
