Well educated indie rock kids from New York, with a penchant for African music. It's not a new idea, as David Byrne can attest, but these songs are really good. The beats are really good, and it just about matches up to the hype.

Do not be alarmed. This is not some Gothic nightmare of ghastly tunes. In fact, it may be a revival of reggae. And I'm all for that.

Fresh and fun without being totally cookie cutter emo-pop. I haven't heard the whole album yet, but I love what I've heard so far!!!

This is one of those albums that I loved from the very first note! Happy, poppy, with a heavy dose of "my parents really loved the Paul Simon Graceland Album."

Just a great great album. Supposedly they're punk, but I don't believe it because...well...I hate punk and I like this.

this is pure pop, and i mean that in the best way possible. afrobeat/new wave/post-punk done quite well. heavy on the preppiness, but unless you really hate rep ties, loafers or cardigans, these songs will get stuck in your head and happily putter back and forth, simple and straightforward and surprisingly earnest.
