It's the 21st century, we have the technology, why should we to vacuum our own floors? If you already have an iRobot Roomba robot vacuum, you know just how incredibly fun and efficient it is. Well, unfortunately it's time to retire that old robot, because you need to check out the highly anticipated, new and improved iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaning Robot!
Not only does the iRobot Roomba 560 have a sleeker modular design, it also has many great new features like an anti-tangle system that helps it get free of things like cords, light-touch bumbers that sense objects and walls so it can slow down before impact and Lighthouses which are like the Virtual Walls except they make the Roomba completely clean one room before allowing it in to clean another. All of this is in addition to dramatically improved cleaning performance and brush design, debris and fine particle filtering, larger waste bin, improved docking, advanced cleaning coverage and navigation and improved on-board scheduling. Oh and it even talks now too! I really love robots. (via The Green Head)

Best Christmas present ever - the roomba picked up all sorts of stuff that my regular vacuum cleaner left behind (ewwww). My roomba is also progammable so I can set it to clean while I'm at work.

At first I was a nonbeliever, but the Roomba is actually quite amazing. You can set it to work on a schedule and it will redock itself when finished. It's thorough and maneuvers around all obstacles. It's also surprisingly quiet.

It's the newest Roomba. The Roomba 570 has a remote control and some extra brushes, but it costs $50 more. (via productwiki.com)

Ha! I'm in the midst of hacking a Roomba so kudos for recognizing the coolness of these devlish little creatures. I'm convinced that one day they will be found to have military applications (already, they're used for land mine detection... fun fact for ya) that will bring about an end to armed combat.
Well, these or some kind of adult-sized hamster ball a la the 80's with Pope-mobile grade bulletproof casing instead of the yellow plastic of days of old... It's a toss-up.
