Bond no. 9 Silver Factory
NYC perfumery Bond No. 9 is launching an Andy Warhol-themed fragrance. A collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, the scent is named Silver Factory. According to Basenotes, "the fragrance contains notes of Incense, Wood Resin, Amber, Jasmine, Iris, Violet and Cedarwood." Available in December, it will sell for $230 for a 100ml bottle.
Silver Factory is of ambiguous male-female gender. The scent was conceived as a smooth, smoky, spicy blend of interlacing incense (a key scent of the ‘60s), wood resin, and syrupy, seductive amber. Slightly dissonant florals - heart of jasmine, iris, and violet, a scent that Warhol was especially fond of - combine to evoke a metallic effect—that of warmed-up, molten silver. And then, for the merest hint of coolness, a handful of cedarwood was added. Now Smell This reviewed the fragrance and notes that “it’s easily the most interesting scent from Bond no. 9 since Chinatown.” I agree! I love it too!
OMGawd! Is this not the coolest! The first in a series of Warhol Foundation partnership scents. The smooth, smoky, spicy blend of interlacing incense, wood resin and syrupy seductive amber with a heart of jasmine, iris and violet and a handful of cedarwood. The slender bottle displays a graphic inspired by Warhol's Campbell Soup Can silkscreen painting in 1965 and it's a nice scent too...so you wouldn't just be buying it for the print on the bottle.
