Ah FashionKitty - you have fallen into the consumers version of the 7th (ok, maybe 6th) circle of hell - picking out a new tv this year. See all those words up there? Do they scare you? It's ok, Joox is here to help you out :)

Where would we be without our televisions? To keep up with American propensities, manufacturers and technology companies have been improving on the good old fashioned 12 inch screen you had in college that had a wire hanger for an antenna.

The choices are vast - literally. If you have the money, you can buy televisions with 109 inch screens (measured diagonally). But let's go to something more rational, hmm?

Samsung has been winning acclaim lately for their LCD TV's. This particular model offers a generous but not too expensive 40" screen. Though you'll find hold-outs, LCD's have been winning the TV wars lately against Plasma screens. The main advantage of Plasma screens is their ability to display a very true to life black. That's about it. LCD's, on the other hand, have been catching up in that color, and are much cheaper in general. Also, they will not burn in an image if left on for too long, unlike Plasma displays.

This Samsung model (LNT4061F) has a pretty good price for a 40" screen, and comes with a built in HDTV tuner, which, in a couple of years, will be TV's standard format, so you get a bit of future-proofing. Reviews all look positive and despite the picture, can be used to watch things other than football. it may not be the most stylish but it's a win in the function and price department.

LOL! This is the best recommendation ever. I feel like I should print it out and frame it. The 7th circle of hell huh? LOL!!! Ah, I am cracking up.

All laughter aside, thank you for the helpful recommendation -- I think Samsung is a good brand to go with.
