I'm not exactly sure why, but I have always been fascinated by Asian culture. The first thing I remember was looking in the Encyclopedia when I was ten. As the images popped out at me, I was mezmorized.

I had the opportunity to spend time in Japan after high school and I fell in love with the culture, the people, the art, the scenery, and especially the food. I remember bringing home lots of trinkets, dishware, ivory chop sticks, mats, and recipes. I learned how to make my own sushi and would invite friends over for parties. Some thought I was a little nuts, but that's ok because it was my passion.

When I got married, I tried to talk my wife into an authentic Japaneese kitchen. She wasn't as excited as me, but with some compromise we got plenty of bowls, mats, dishware and tableware. Often, we make sushi together and enjoy the time spent making and eating it. If any of this describes you, I urge you to get your kitchenware at timeshouseware.com (via timeshouseware.com)
