In the 1970s, entrepreneur Vittorio Livi had a vision: He wanted to give glass a starring role in interior design instead of its usual supporting part as an ornamental accessory. Today, Fiam Italia is one of Italy’s premier companies making home furnishings out of curved glass. Based in Tavullia, Fiam collaborates with internationally celebrated designers such as Cini Boeri and Philippe Starck to create its distinctive designs. The line includes tables, case goods and accessories, as well as a clear-glass armchair aptly dubbed Ghost. Fiam Italia’s products are available in 30 US stores. (via Elements of Living)
