One of the more elegant chairs you've seen from Ikea, this PS Ellan reminds that the brand is actually steeped in Scandinavian design. Wood plastic composite means this thing will be as cheap and incapable of long life as anything else from Ikea, but the form is real nice. (via BLTD)

designdude: wood-plastic composites are fairly regular components in modern construction and will outlast most houses they're used in/on. this is probably one of the more long lasting pieces of ikea furniture you can buy. look at the molded eames chairs these days. cheap welds and plastic seats. but it's for the environment, right?
