Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead), celebrated in Mexico makes a lot of sense to me. The idea that death is intertwined with life... If only it were viewed that way here in the States.

"This intricate, one-of-a-kind clay skull was made with metal wires for the caterpillar antenna, then painted with bright acrylic paints. It was handmade by artist Jose Mendez in his southern Mexico home, and is a superb example of Mexican folk art. His artwork is inspired by the annual Day of the Dead celebrations, which take place from October 31 through November 2." (via lafuente.com)
