My favorite album by my favorite band. It came out when I was 13 and I still vividly remember the first time I heard it. It's not a perfect record, but there's so much love there that I know I'd totally have to bring "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" along with me to the desert island.

This is the album where the Chili Pepper sound really jells for the first time and they start getting their dues. There's still the rawness and the crazy funk moments, like on "Suck My Kiss", but "Under the Bridge" and "Give It Away" are much more accessible and radio friendly. A lot funkier than some of their later releases, this album has a great groove to it.
