broken social scene frontman/singer/songwriter kevin drew must have felt a little jealous of all the girls in his band going off and getting famous (well, at least leslie feist and emily haines), because he decided to go up to his bedroom and write some more songs.
and they're good songs, too. as a whole, the album lacks the bombast of 'ibi dreams of pavement'--it's mostly a series of love songs. not always for someone, not always requited, but it's brimming with love (and j. mascis).
don't judge this album too harshly on its cover or name-checking title. it's legitimately good.
