These things are must-haves, imho. They are virtually indestructible and carry enough water to keep you hydrated when you are adventuring in the great outdoors. Plus they don't make the water or tea taste funny.

Also great for having at the office or around the house for a handy, spill-proof drinking vessel.

So now water bottles can give you cancer. Great, considering that we're supposed to drink at least 2 liters of water a day, and what else holds that much water besides water bottles? Nothing. I had to throw away all my cancer-laden bottles and go find a BPA-free one. I like the wide-mouth of this Nalgene bottle and the fact that it holds a whole liter, so I can track exactly how much water I've had in a workday. I use a bendy straw to drink out of it. I haven't tried to freeze it or boil it or run over it with car, but it seems durable. More importantly, I won't die from drinking from it.

Pick a color, any color. These Nalgene water bottles are absolutely impossible to destroy. Through the car ride, the Polo Field, the cold and the heat, your Nalgene will keep you hydrated all weekend.

Talking all day long can really make you thirsty! Be kind to the environment and buy a $9 nalgene bottle to use and reuse.

You can never have too many 1L Lexan plastic bottles. I like the wide-mouth ones, and I have one EACH for water, coffee and soda/energy drinks, even though they don't really absorb taste and odors (but can be harder to clean if you mix stuff without a thorough washing). (via gordon)

Definitely a must-have! These are great for toting around water. By keeping it on my desk at work, mine even motivates me (and reminds me!) to drink more water all day long.

The Nalgene water bottle is a classic. Of course mine isn't this fancy, new-fangled red color. I have the old-school, smoky-grey plastic Nalgene and many of my friends own the even-older-school white plastic Nalgene. The point is, this bottle is going to last you a looooong time, so pick a color you like.
