"The program helps support the care of 2,000 animals at the National Zoo and its Conservation and Research Center"
More importantly, how much do you think a child will learn about a particular animal if they "adopt" one. What a great way to impact children and make a contribution to conservation efforts.
There is a list of animals that can be adopted. They range from birds to big cats to invertebrates to small and large mammals to reptiles. Contributions start at $40.
