get it?! it's a tape dispenser! finally, a good use for the poor outdated cassette tape. don't act as if you don't remember recording songs off the radio, because we all did it. a neat and quirky addition to your desk accessories collection, which, if you're like me, doesn't exactly need an addition. but this is too cute!

our tape dispenser is a very witty solution and is sure to put a smile on peoples faces, the j-me tape dispenser uses two different objects that use the word 'tape' in different contexts. the fusion of music recording tape and sticky tape results in a piece of stationary lovers of retro iconography should not be without. made of rubber, it uses this advantage to be weighty and non-slip. 'small core' tape is easily installed, changed and cut on the metal cutting blade mounted in the top corner. the tape dispenser was designed in j-me that was founded by Mark and Jamie Antoniades. Description

This is one of those rare beasts, a design icon that's actually functional - and it even has those classically cogged spool wheels from the original cassette tape design. The two sides pop apart so you can insert a roll of tape and tear off strips as usual, which is of course the point, though just having this thing of beauty on your desk is reward enough frankly. The fact that it's an effective tape dispenser is secondary to the loveliness of it's design.

This is going to be one of my "70's-80's" retro gifts for my Valentine. We are both products of the days when people actually listened to cassette tapes. It's geeky and retro...just like we are.
