Finally, and damn it! I own the docking station from three years ago, when they first introduced it. I LOVE it, and so do all my friends, including my DJ friends. Impressive sound from a single speaker unit that is pretty minimal in design.

What I'm not happy about is mine does not come cordless. What I'm psyched about is the new model has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and a handle (important). So one can now tote this to the beach if needed, which I needed and will need.

I think I have to swallow paying for the old model and upgrade to the new. I don't think I have a choice, do I?

In my mind Bose has always made superior products. However, you can get a sound dock so much cheaper. The sound quality will not be the same, but you might just get a great deal on something else. From what I've seen bose products rarely go on sale. So if you are thinking of buying this product and see it on sale, snatch it up.
