It's a shame to leave wine in a bottle. Until now it was either drink it or pour it out. The V-Gauge WIne Vacuum buys you a little more time.

Simply insert the stopper, cover it with the pump and use some elbow-grease. The number of pumps varies depending on how much air is in the bottle, but the handy gauge shows you when you've created a vacuum. It also lets you check the status of a bottle you vacuumed a few days ago to see if it's still sealed.

The best part is the device actually works. It can extend the life of an open bottle from 3-5 days, in my testing. No air means no bacteria, yeast or oxidation! I don't know if it tastes exactly the same but it's certainly palatable.

The kit comes in a neat little plastic package and would make a great gift. One note, you may have to pull up the button before you start pumping - otherwise it might not work.
