The Believer is a very fine magazine that comes out 10 times a year. It's a non-fiction spin-off from McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, the phenomenal Dave Eggers literary creation. The writing is of excellent quality and touches a large variety of subjects, with an emphasis on literature but also some fascinating pieces on science, philosophy, music and politics, always from a quirky angle.

The most entertaining, well-written, and amusing literary and pop-culture mags out there. Also, if you get the chance visit the Believer headquarters and Pirate Store (yes, you read that right, a store for all things PIRATE, as in "arggg, matey!" Pirate) at 826 Valencia St., San Francisco.
