mustachioed wolf parade member spencer krug's side project. krug's lyrics grow up quite a bit compared to earlier EPs, and the album generally feels like a much more mature effort. however, the songs also reflect a definite melancholy about growing older and the resulting loss of innocence.
the songs flow together well--there's a sense of theater and pageantry to the whole album, and it's a more vulnerable and personal effort than wolf parade.
too bad this album came out after all those sprint ads started running.
