I am an engineer working on OLED and this is the coolest technology ever! Sony did a great job with this TV, the images jump off the screen and they have a very cool user interface to boot! Its a little expensive, but worth it if you're a true baller and need to watch those football games in the kitchen while you're getting the dip and chips ready. Get one!

This television is awesome! OLED is the future of flat panel display technology. OLED pixels generate light on their own and therefore eliminate the need for backlighting. That's why this baby is much thinner than LCDs. plasmas, DLPs, or other display alternatives. They also offer superior picture quality, contrast, and brightness. Plus this Sony XEL-1 (and all OLED) displays have low-energy consumption meaning it will save you perhaps a buck or more per 8 hours of use on your energy bill.
