Australian fashion brand sass & bide, debuted their “black rats” leggings during Fall/Winter 2008 New York fashion week. Deemed to be the “new denim” of the season, the “black rats” are being scooped up left and right by celebrities.

Will you be picking up a pair?

I have a sneaking suspicion that I will. Leggings won't die so I may as well get the hottest pair I can find.

These leggings are great. I just received mine and they look stunning. they can be dressed up or down with flats. They are very flattering to the figure (although I didn't think that would be the case when looking at them)

i love these leggings because they make legs look great! plus, they have a rocker vibe to them.

I used to have a roommate who, back in 2006, was extremely vocal about her disgust for my wearing leggings as pants. Of course, there is a part of me who, in 2008, thinks that maybe I should have listened to her. But, on the other hand, I had fun indulging in that trend even though I knew it wouldn't last.

Now, I'm kind in love with these Sass & Bide "Black Rats" leggings. But while $30 American Apparel leggings are one thing, these would set me back $174. Is that too much to spend on something that by 2010 I'll probably be slightly embarrassed I wore? Maybe.

While I'm grappling over whether or not I should buy them, they'll probably sell out, because apparently the demand for them is high...
