Cat Stevens - Greatest Hits

Greatest Hits provides a good overview of Cat Stevens' more popular work, including the poignant "Oh Very Young" and "Father & Son."

Unfortunately, the delightful yet brief "Tea for the Tillerman" is not present. The lovely "Morning Has Broken" has elements of Stevens's growing concern with religion, philosophy, and the relationship between the cerebral and the spiritual. In the early 1980s, Stevens, now Yusef Islam, "retired" from the music profession because of his new beliefs.

Cat Stevens is one of my favorite singer.

We all know that the best Cat Stevens album (which wasn't released until last year) is the Harold & Maude soundtrack. It's not that the guy didn't make some stellar albums, he did. However, the greatest hits seem to do the trick for me.

This is an all time favorite of mine-
I defy anyone to listen to this album and still say that he has terrorist
tendencies -
His Soul is pure and his music has taught me about grace, Love, kindness and
forgiveness.
There will never be an Artist of his stature -
I am a better person because of his music, and will be forever appreciative. (via John_and_Rose)
