I am making the switch to Skype and I am on a Mac. The IPEVO free.1 USB phone is my current pick for a Mac-friendly USB phone (it also works on PC's too). It is lightweight, stylish, and seems sufficiently rugged.
Like all good Mac products, the free.1 just worked when I plugged it in. Sound quality is good, UI is pretty good, but, alas, no jack for a headset. All in all, a good deal for $30.

This stylish phone does have a very good sound quality. The 16 KHz voice sampling rate does help this device to stand out from other Skype USB phones. Besides, if you are a Mac user, this might be the the best solution for you to free up the headphone jack while waiting for an incoming call.
