Back in 1988, when I first watched Beetlejuice as a kid, it scared me because things just jumped out at you unexpectedly. Then after I watched it second time, I wasn't scared at all.
But now...whenever I watch this movie, it always made me smile. Why? I guess it has to do with my childhood. :-)

A couple of recently deceased ghosts contract the services of a "bio-exorcist" in order to remove the obnoxious new owners of their house. The casting is absolutely perfect, especially wonderfully macabre but good-hearted Winona Ryder and obnoxious and slimy Michael Keaton.
The film is an absolute must-see!!

I ADORE this movie and own it on VHS. And I watched it twice this weekend because, well, it was on twice. It's strange, spooky, funny and ridiculous all in one. My favorite part is just how bizarre the afterlife is, and how all the dead are portrayed so humorously. Also, Alec Baldwin was hot back in the day.
