ic! berlin is a small design group based in, yes, Berlin. They make a steady stream of sunglasses and prescription eyewear that is available in the US at specialty optic boutiques.

What makes ic! berlin stand out from the crowd, apart from their name, are the glasses themselves. All are made out of sheet metal and give a cool, modern look without going too far. They are available in their standard classic matte steel, as well as bronze, gold, etc. The tint of the lenses are also customizable.

Very cool brand with very cool products - check out their website and mouse over the links. You can use their store finder to find where to purchase a pair.

I wouldn't recommend buying any pair as a gift as it's a highly personal choice, but you can give them the name, the place and the cash to get something nice :)

This is another glasses frame company. I also have had some frames from this company which again they have won awards for the frames. They use a unique attachment design between the arms and the frames themselves which is amazing.
