I'll never know what my mom really went through to come over to the U.S. from Korea but this book details some experiences other Koreans have/could have. The story is told from the viewpoint of a young child and many of the terms/concepts referenced are familiar to me (mi gook=america/american, Young Ju is actually my cousin's name, halmoni=grandma) but I'm sure I'll learn more form this book.
