I have a gas stove and a mischevious little boy. The safety first version of these got mediocre reviews on amazon.com, but at less than $10 a set they qualify as "cheap enough to be worth a try." If they do not work I can always go back to pulling the knobs off and keeping them on the counter out of reach.

However, I suspect that at some point I will find myself asking my little boy to open them for me, since I can't figure out how to get them off. :)
