never again will you have to deal with traffic, parking, standing in line, crowds, totally unhygienic seating arrangements, and overpriced junior mints.

When you have down time in college, you're either hungover or just got our of a midterm you crammed for overnight. A good movie supply is a must-have in college. I probably watched at least 2 movies a night. Roomie movie nights are so fun, too. A Netflix membership is a great idea because there are no late fees and the possibilities are endless. We all know college students aren't the best at avoiding late fees. I think I stacked up at like fifty bucks in fees at Hollywood Video during my college stint.

My favorite flick that Netflix exposed to me? The Waitress. It's wonderful.

This is my lifeline. Netflix does an excellent job at fulfillment, making sure that you get your titles in a timely matter. I've also noticed that they don't "throttle" their customers like Blockbuster does, meaning that they don't slow down the delivery of your movies if you are an active user.

Netflix is why store-based movie rental is going out of business. You choose from a huge database of movies, they send you the DVD, you watch it and return it when you're ready, then they send you the next movie in your queue.

The selection is large, the late fees do not exist, the convenience is great.

A subscription also makes a great last minute gift - you can select from subscriptions ranging from one month to a year and ranging from one to three movies at a time. This is a great gift for your parents who refuse to tell you what they want, your stay at home mom friend, your friend who just broke their leg skiing, or your boyfriend who loves horror movies. Or someone like me who watches movies on my laptop during my train commute.

This is how I got through film school. Netflix can be enjoyed by everyone from film students to the soccer mom who does not have the time to stop by Blockbuster.

I too have been a member for numerous years. I first signed up as a great replacement for renting videos at the local video stores. Not only did and it still does have a better selection than rental stores, it is also cheaper.

However, the more our family used Netflix, we found that it was also an excellent replacement for our cable television programming as well. Currently on the 8-discs-out-at-a-time program, we find ourselves with the power of choosing what we want to watch, when we want to watch, and thanks to Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD, at most times better picture quality. Heroes on HD-DVD is far superior than normal HD broadcasting quality.

Netflix is also excellent for parents who are concerned with what their kids are watching. You never have to worry about your kids being bombarded with commercials while they're watching shows. Also, you save money in the long run because you never have to buy the sets. Your child wants to watch a show, put it in your queue, get it, watch it, return it. Then if your child wants to watch it for a later date, simply re-rent it.
