She was an avid singer as a child singing in the gospel choir at her church……she drew her inspiration from the Patsy Cline records that her mother, (who she lost at the tender age of 7), listened to day in and day out. Then, after seeing Charley Pride perform at the Grand Ole' Opry, she was convinced that she could very well accomplish anything, including becoming the first Female African-American Country star that she is fast becoming.
