Problem: Create a clock that writes the time.

Verbarius answers the question "What time is it" writing a different reply every time it's asked: it's either fory-five minutes past four, or fifteen minutes to five, or fourty-five, or a quarter to five. (via moco Loco)

The clock that spells out what time it is in words, rather than showing you boring numbers. Doesn't "nine minutes to seven" sound like more fun to read than "6:51"? I think so.

150 bucks is not bad for this amazing clock: Equipped with five languages and a text-based display, this is a steal for amazing design.

Finally, a clock that tells you exactly what time it is. Hopefully you can read. (via Uncrate)

Verbarius spells out the time in a different way every minute. It’s either forty-five minutes past four, or fifteen minutes to five, or four forty-five, or a quarter to five.

Art Lebedev has some interesting concepts, but this one in particular caught my eye. It's a neat little brick shaped clock that writes the time, instead of simply displaying it in numbers. For example, instead of displaying '5:45' it would show 'A quarter to Six'.

I think that's pretty neat, and the LCD displays the time using white text on black - which is ALWAYS cool.

It's pricey though - you can pre-order now for $158.25. Production is slated to begin in November of 07.

Update - Apparently, production has been pushed to March of 2008. I want one already :)
