Firefly is a a fun, adventurous, science fiction slash Western series, loved by the few people who saw it (which wasn't very many). Don't expect a huge budget production, but do expect a cast that starts to click as the season progresses. The movie Serenity brought Firefly into the public eye. (via Alain Avakian)

A sci-fi western with the Joss Whedon touch. Like all Joss Whedon series, you'll have to live with the pain of it not being very long lived. These shows are worth watching if you can deal with the fact that there won't be any more.

One of the best science-fiction series ever on television, this show was cut too short.

The series is MUCH better than the movie, and lots of fun.
Kind of like Star Trek, but with more humor.

Another Joss Whedon gem-this one tragically short-lived. With an incredible cast (nobly led by the adorably charming Nathan Fillion), after you finish the season you'll be left wanting more. And luckily, you can have it with the follow up major motion picture, Serenity.
