What could be more English than a chamomile lawn? When I planted mine, the only way to do it was to plant individual plants (like thyme) and allow them to knit together. It took a good year or so of weeding before I could relax and enjoy it.
Annoyingly for me - but thankfully for the rest of you, the turfshop have gone and started supplying chamomile turf. A great idea - and I reckon chamomile lawns are going to get more an more popular now that we are trying to conserve water.
A chamomile lawn does not turn brown in the drought and does not need mowing! Howzat for low maintenance
