With all of the things being called martinis nowadays, it's about time someone started bringing some class and quality back to flavoring vodka and gin. Think for a minute the next time you order an appletini or some such treacly concoction: you're going to mix premium vodka with some artificially flavored $7 sugary junk. Instead, try mixing in a splash of Green or the sweeter Yellow Chartreuse. It will make your drink look pretty, and it will taste so spectacular you won't even miss the garnish. The Carthusian monks have been making this liqueur since the early 17th century, and they got it right. Also, this liqueur is a good conversation starter; I mean, what else is made from 130 plants and herbs, from a secret recipe still guarded by only two living monks in the Alps?
